Shardul Thakur, who has been consistently among wickets for the Mumbai Ranji team, was inducted into the Indian squad for the Test tour of West Indies. Although, his big moment came in Sri Lanka when he made his ODI debut for India. While the Mumbai bowling spearhead was bought by KXIP, he only played a single game for the team. IPL 10 saw some aggressive bowling by Shardul who picked up a total of 11 wickets from the 12 games he played. Bought for INR 2.6 cr at the IPL Auction, it’ll be great to see how Thakur contributes to the CSK squad.

Watson was a part of the Rajasthan Royals since the inaugural season, in 2008. That IPL season also helped him make an improbable comeback to international cricket. After being sidelined due to injuries, Watson decided to join the Royals and emerged the Player of the Tournament in the first edition of the tournament. In the 2016 edition of the league, Watto was bought by RCB.
An attacking batsman with a solid defence and an athletic fielder and a medium-pacer, he can swing the ball and pick up useful wickets. The all-rounder has always played a crucial role in his IPL team’s fortunes, and CSK will hope he brings in the same aggression and firepower into their camp.

The third retained player by CSK ahead of the IPL 2018 Player Auction, Ravindra Jadeja has been MS Dhoni’s go-to-man when he needed to break a partnership and the left-armer has delivered the goods on many occasions. His presence gives Dhoni the extra cushion of playing an additional batsman if needed.
Jadeja has been an enigma right since his advent in international cricket. He was part of the victorious Indian U-19 cricket team that won the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. His performance in IPL 2008 helped Rajasthan Royals to title victory and earned him the nickname "Rockstar" by his captain Shane Warne. In 2012 IPL player auction, Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for approx. Rs. 9.8 Crore, making him the most expensive player of the year's auction. Jadeja has represented the Gujarat Lions for two seasons and is now back with CSK for the eleventh edition of the league.
